Comprehensive Heart Tests
At FitCardiology, we provide a range of essential diagnostic tests that require a consultation with our expert cardiologists. Our services ensure you receive tailored care and accurate assessments for your heart health.
Blood tests
Cost depending on the test required
Following your video consultation, your consultant may recommend a blood test tailored to your needs. These tests are typically carried out at a hospital close to your home, and the results will be reviewed and explained during your follow-up appointment.
We offer a range of heart-specific blood tests, including cholesterol levels, high-sensitivity troponin, HbA1c, and NT-pro BNP.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
£120
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, painless test that measures the heart’s electrical activity to check how well it is working. Small sticky pads are placed on your chest, arms, and legs to record your heartbeat, and the test usually takes around 5–10 minutes. The printout produced allows a cardiologist to assess your heart rate, rhythm, and electrical signals, helping detect issues such as irregular heartbeats, signs of a heart attack, or problems with the heart muscle or valves. Because even small pattern changes can be significant, ECGs are widely used in clinics, hospitals, and emergency settings to guide diagnosis and treatment.
Heartbeat monitor
£370
Holter monitors are small, wearable ECG devices that record your heartbeat over an extended period, allowing irregularities to be detected during everyday activities. During your online consultation, our cardiologists will advise whether a Holter monitor is appropriate, and if so, it will be posted directly to your home with simple instructions for use. The device attaches to your chest with small sticky electrodes and is designed to be comfortable, discreet, and easy to wear while you carry on with your usual routine. Once returned, the recorded data is analysed by our cardiac physiologists to identify any abnormal rhythms, such as fast or slow heartbeats, pauses, atrial fibrillation, or ventricular tachycardia.
Blood pressure monitor
£270
A 24-hour blood pressure monitor provides a more accurate picture of your blood pressure throughout the day and night than occasional readings taken in a clinic. It helps diagnose high blood pressure—usually confirmed when average readings are consistently 135/85 or higher—and can also identify “white coat syndrome,” where blood pressure rises due to medical-setting anxiety. Continuous monitoring can detect low blood pressure and related symptoms such as dizziness or fainting. It also helps identify problems with blood pressure and heart rate changes when moving from sitting to standing.

Echocardiogram (Echo)
£320
An echocardiogram, or “Echo,” is a simple, non-invasive ultrasound scan that uses sound waves to create moving images of the heart. A small probe is placed on your chest to show the heart’s chambers, valves, size, shape, and overall function. This test helps diagnose and monitor conditions such as valve problems, heart failure, heart muscle disease, fluid around the heart, blood clots, and the effects of high blood pressure or past heart attacks. It is often used to investigate symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, ankle swelling, or blackouts.
CT Coronary Angiogram
£1500
A cardiac CT scan provides detailed images of the coronary arteries, using a doughnut-shaped scanner that you pass through while lying on a bed. A CTCA is especially helpful for investigating chest pain, as it shows any narrowing, blockages, or fatty build-up that could lead to angina or increase the risk of a heart attack. The test is non-invasive, uses a small cannula to inject contrast dye, and typically takes up to an hour.
Heart MRI
£850
A heart MRI uses magnetic waves to produce detailed images of the heart, showing its structure, function, and blood flow. During the scan, you lie on a bed that moves into a tunnel-shaped scanner. The images provide clear views of the heart muscle, chambers, and major blood vessels, helping identify conditions such as previous heart attacks, myocarditis, or causes of heart failure. It can also support the diagnosis of angina and guide treatments like coronary stenting.
